NCLA's Middle School Girls and the Boys Track & Field Teams both finished in 4th place at the South Davie Meet yesterday. The Girls collected 35 team points and the Boys collected 43. On the Girls side, Christiana Ferentinos finished in first place in the 100M Dash with a time of 13.28s. The 4x200M and 4x100M Relay Teams both took second place, and Lanie Speed finished second in the 1600M Run with a time of 6.34 min.
For the Boys, Ayden Jones took first place in the High Jump with a height of 5'3'', Hunter Kirby finished 2nd in the Shot Put with a distance of 34'4'' and Isaiah Setzer finished 1st in the 1600M Run with a time of 5.30.74 min. Great job Falcons!

There are several matches and games today (4/17) for NCLA. Middle School Track will travel to Ellis Middle School for their meet beginning at 3:00pm; Varsity Golf is hosting Cornerstone, Bishop McGuinness, CPLA and River Mill at Winding Creek Golf Club starting at 3:30pm; Varsity Track will travel to Bishop McGuinness with the meet set to start at 4:00pm and Varsity Baseball has a new start time of 6:30pm at Home against Atkins High School.

NCLA's Varsity Softball and Varsity Women's Soccer Teams take to the fields tonight. Softball has a double header with Carver at home with the first pitch slated for 6:00pm with the second game to start afterwards. Soccer plays cross town rival Bishop McGuinness at home with the opening whistle set for 6:00pm. Lets go Falcons!

Adopt-a-Senior!! Families from any grade are invited to adopt-a-senior by writing them a supportive note and providing them with a gift bag with goodies (around $25). We will give you a list of the student's favorite snacks, etc. On the form, you will be able to indicate preferences like gender, college choice, specific person, etc. The gifts will need to be delivered to the HS front office by Friday, May 10. All seniors will receive their gifts at the same time after Senior awards.

It's a busy week for NCLA Athletics! Middle School Sports kick off the week here at home today at 4:30pm. Varsity Women's Soccer hosts cross town rival Bishop on Tuesday at 6:00pm; Varsity Softball has a double header against Carver on Tuesday starting at 6:00pm; Varsity Golf hosts a Conference Match Wednesday at Winding Creek at 3:30pm; and Varsity Baseball plays Atkins High School Wednesday at 7:00pm at home.

Fisher Carter, one of NCLA's amazing 6th graders, has his own business!!! He came and served his donuts at the Day of the Arts and they were a hit! If you see him around, definitely try a few and support this young entrepreneur!!!

COLOR THE WORLD and partner with The NCLA's Spanish Honor Society and The Pulsera Project which provides sustainable, well-paying work opportunities for artisans in Nicaragua and Guatemala, most of whom make colorful hand-woven bracelets, or “pulseras” in Spanish. The project then creates a market for their artwork by partnering with schools across the U.S.
Pulseras will be sold for $5 during lunch until Friday, 4/19. 100% of the proceeds will be invested in a wide range of social impact programs in Nicaragua & Guatemala, including:
*Sustained employment for nearly 200 artists
*Secondary education programs
* University scholarships for artisans and their families
*Healthcare for artisans and their families
*A housing program for artisans and their families
*Environmental initiatives
*Support for other social enterprises doing impactful work in these countries
